Rudy has really lit it up in the fields around Colorado. He has proved that every dog has his day. His owners have sent him out on the field trial circuit sparingly, more to just keep him on birds during the off season, and he has already finished his Open Field Championship. He has proven that no bird can challenge his nose. Rudy has hunted pheasant, quail, sharp-tail grouse, and prairie chicken in the hardest of conditions. He easily adapts to foot hunting and proper range conditions. He has a great nose and runs with ease. Rudy is a very calm, quiet dog, which makes for pleasing house companion! He will wrap up the spring field trial season with a big run at the Ames Plantation at the AKC Gun Dog Nationals and return to his owners to purse his show title to earn his Dual Championship. Eve most recently won Reserve Winners Bitch at the American Brittany Club Nationals in November 2011. She has had many placements in field trials, almost all earned in stakes open to all breeds. Eve's bird drive is intense! She has a great nose, tons of style, and is a natural retriever and loves to go find downed birds and bring it right back to hand, even if it landed 3 hills away! She is a sweet, biddable, loving dog with a real desire to please. She has a naturally short, flat coat and beautiful movement in both the show ring and in the field. Eve has 8 points towards her show championship, 1 pass towards her Junior Hunter title and will be sent back to Hideaway Kennels in late spring/early summer to start the breaking process so she will be ready for adult stakes at field trials next fall. She will be campaigned both in show and field in pursuit of her Dual Championship. These puppies will be dual prospect. They will have incredible bird drive, will make great hunters, show dogs, hiking/running companions, family dogs or even just couch potatoes! Both parents have been trained and handled by Ben Garcia, and it was his recommendation to match these two up. There will be a great balance of trainability, bird drive, temperament, and conformation. Liver/White and Orange/White expected out of this litter.
Ty (OFA Good) is a beautiful, athletic, big running dog, early in his adult field trial season. After running in 3 trials in the fall of 2011, he got a 4th in an all breed Open All Age stake, and in an all breed Open Gun Dog stake the same weekend. He is very sweet and calmer than your average Brittany. He broke easily and we have really high hopes for him in trials in the future! Lizzy (OFA Excellent) loves her birds and is a solid pointer. She will be helping guide pheasants fall 2011 at North Fork Pheasant Preserve. These puppies should be very birdy, sweet, and easily trainable! Both colors are expected.

KC (OFA Pending) is a very big running female, but she was bred to be that way! She has only run in a few field trials, but already has her Open Derby points. She is owned by Ben Garcia of Hideaway Kennels. She gets to run and hunt on the Rocky Mountain Roosters hunting preserve. Ben trains Ty and KC so he has really watched them and is expecting a great litter. They should be calm, very willing to please and easily trainable. Most importantly, they should be fantastic hunters. If you’re looking for a field trial dog, a hunting companion, or a family dog, these pups will be a great fit for you! Both colors are expected, as each of the dogs has an orange parent. Please contact Ben Garcia at 303-709-6268 or Ben@HideawayKennels.com or myself for more information and details on how to get your deposit in!
Summer 2011 litter - all sold
Jazz is a snappy, stylish shooting dog with a large heart and a great nose. She has won numerous large stakes (view her record here). Jazz was also the Skyline Brittany Club’s Gun Dog of the year in 2008. She is a hard worker in the field, and a great family dog. Both Sawyer and Jazz have points towards their Amateur field championships and will be campaigned until they finish those titles as well! The first litter whelped in December 2009 produced 3 puppies, 2 of which have been campaigned: FireStarter’s Clear Winter Night, “Eve” (owner Andi Christensen), has points towards her show championship and many puppy and derby placements in field trials. Some notable placements Eve received are 1st in her sweepstakes class at the ABC Nationals in November 2010, and Best of Opposite Sex in the Sweepstakes at the Iowa Brittany Club specialty in April 2011. Littermate, GoldRush Brittany to the Max, “Max” (owners Jim and Virginia Cayton), has one pass towards his JH in his first hunt test weekend, and placed 4th in his and his owner’s first ever field trial! We are excited that these two puppies have made a great start and can't wait to see how far they go!
